7.2 Running setup

Use the SETUP.EXE program, at the root directory of the software distribution, to install all software components that run on Windows servers:

Note:
If the setup program fails to start, run the SHFOLDER.EXE program from the ID-Synch software distribution. This will install a Microsoft DLL which is missing on your server, and which the SETUP.EXE program requires.

  1. Copy the software distribution to a scratch directory (for example, c:\temp) on the server.

  2. While logged in as an administrator, run the SETUP.EXE program.
The setup program displays an introductory screen which lists the phone number and e-mail addresses you use to ask for assistance.

  3. Click Next.

Setup displays the Add/remove ID-Synch components screen.

  4. Proceed through the series of dialog boxes described in the next section.

See Securing Connections with a Proxy if you want to install software on a proxy server.
